قُتل خمسة أشخاص على الأقل، أحدهم شرطي، في إطلاق نار وقع في نيويورك الليلة الماضية عندما أطلق مسلح النار وسط حي مانهاتن، بحسب ما أفادت وسائل إعلام أميركية.

وقال مسؤول في قوات الأمن لشبكة "سي إن إن" الإخبارية إنّ "أربعة أشخاص، أحدهم عنصر في شرطة نيويورك، قتلوا" في الواقعة، مشيرا إلى أنّ مطلق النار انتحر على ما يبدو بإطلاق النار على نفسه، بينما أفادت صحيفة نيويورك بوست بأنّ المسلّح قتل خمسة أشخاص.

وكانت قائدة شرطة نيويورك جيسيكا تيش، أعلنت في وقت سابق أنّ "المسلّح المنفرد" أطلق النار وسط مانهاتن ما استدعى إطلاق عملية أمنية ضخمة لتوقيفه وقد تمّ تحييده.

وأضافت تيش في منشور على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي إنّ الوضع حاليا تحت السيطرة والمسلّح تمّ تحييده.
