برنامج الأغذية العالمي: نحو ثلث سكان غزة "لا يأكلون لأيام"

أعلن برنامج الأغذية العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة الجمعة، أن حوالى ثلث سكان قطاع غزة لا يأكلون لأيام، محذّرا من أن سوء التغذية في تزايد حادّ.

وأفاد البرنامج في بيان، بأن "الأزمة الغذائية في غزة بلغت مستويات من اليأس غير مسبوقة. نحو شخص من أصل 3 لا يأكل لأيام. سوء التغذية في تزايد حاد، حيث إنّ 90 ألف امرأة وطفل في حاجة عاجلة إلى العلاج".

وأضاف أنه من المتوقع أن يواجه 470 ألف فلسطيني "مجاعة كارثية" بين أيار وأيلول في القطاع المحاصر.

وحذّر برنامج الأغذية العالمي بأن هناك "أشخاصا يموتون بسبب نقص المساعدات الإنسانية"، مشيرا إلى أن "المساعدات الغذائية هي السبيل الوحيد لحصول السكان على الغذاء إذ وصلت أسعار المواد الغذائية إلى مستويات قياسية".
