أعلن رئيس محكمة العدل الدولية الأربعاء أن تغير المناخ "يُشكل تهديدا داهما ووجوديا"، في رأي مرتقب بشأن التزامات الدول القانونية المتعلقة بتغير المناخ.

وقال القاضي الياباني يوجي إيواساوا "خلصت المحكمة إلى أن عواقب تغير المناخ وخيمة وعميقة. فهي تلحق ضررا بالنظم البيئية الطبيعية والسكان على السواء. وتُبرز هذه العواقب التهديد الداهم والوجودي الذي يُمثله التغير المناخي".
