لم يتمكن الائتلاف الحاكم في اليابان بزعامة رئيس الوزراء شيجيرو إيشيبا من الحصول على الأغلبية في مجلس المستشارين (الشيوخ) المكون من 248 مقعدا في انتخابات برلمانية حاسمة، حسبما ذكرت هيئة الإذاعة والتفلزيون اليابانية اليوم الاثنين.

وكان حزب إيشيبا الليبرالي الديمقراطي وشريكه الأصغر في الائتلاف كوميتو بحاجة للفوز بـ 50 مقعدا بالإضافة إلى المقاعد الــ75 التي يمتلكونها بالفعل للوصول إلى الهدف، ومع تبقي مقعدين لم يحسما بعد، حصل الائتلاف على 46 مقعدا فقط.
