استهل المنتخب الوطني للناشئين تحت 16 عامًا مشاركته في بطولة غرب آسيا التأهيلية لكرة السلة بالخسارة أمام المنتخب السوري بنتيجة (66-83)، في اللقاء الذي أقيم اليوم الأحد، على صالة الأمير حمزة بمدينة الحسين للشباب.

وتقدم المنتخب السوري في الشوط الأول (52-32)، وواصل تفوقه خلال فترات اللقاء، ليحصد أول نقطتين في رصيده ضمن منافسات البطولة.

وتقام البطولة بنظام الدوري المجزأ من مرحلة واحدة، بمشاركة منتخبات الأردن وسورية ولبنان وإيران، ويتأهل في ختامها صاحبا المركزين الأول والثاني إلى نهائيات كأس آسيا تحت 16 عامًا والمقررة في منغوليا 2026.
