أبرز البيت الابيض الخميس دور الولايات المتحدة في احتواء التصعيد في سوريا مؤكدا أنه "مستمر"، بعد مواجهات في جنوب البلاد خلفت أكثر من 500 قتيل في بضعة أيام.

وقالت المتحدثة باسم البيت الابيض كارولاين ليفيت "ما أن تدخلت الولايات المتحدة في النزاع حتى تمكنا من احتواء التصعيد"، موضحة أن السلطات السورية وافقت "على سحب قواتها التي كانت المواجهات تحصل فيها"، وأن واشنطن تواصل "مراقبة الوضع في شكل مكثف".
