تعهدت الرئاسة السورية الأربعاء في بيان بمحاسبة من قالت إنهم ارتكبوا "انتهاكات" في السويداء بعد أيام من اشتباكات دامية أوقعت نحو 250 قتيلا بحسب المرصد السوري لحقوق الإنسان.

وأورد البيان الذي نشرته منصّات الرئاسة أنها "تابعت...باهتمام بالغ الانتهاكات المؤسفة التي طالت بعض المناطق في محافظة السويداء مؤخرا"، مضيفة " ندين بشدة هذه الأعمال المشينة، ونؤكد التزامنا التام بالتحقيق في جميع الحوادث المتعلقة بها، ومحاسبة كل من ثبت تورطه فيها".
