أعلنت رئيسة المفوضية الاوروبية أورسولا فون دير لايين الاحد أن بروكسل ستمدد تعليق الرسوم الجمركية المضادة ردا على الرسوم الأميركية على الصلب والألومنيوم، مع سعيها الى التوصل لاتفاق يجنب الاتحاد الأوروبي رسوما جمركية بنسبة ثلاثين في المئة.

وقالت فون دير لايين إن "الولايات المتحدة وجهت الينا رسالة تنص على إجراءات سيبدأ تنفيذها الا إذا كان هناك حل تفاوضي. لذا، سنمدد بدورنا تعليق إجراءاتنا المضادة حتى الاول من آب/اغسطس"، علما أن مهلة تعليق هذه التدابير كانت ستنتهي منتصف ليل الاثنين الثلاثاء.
