واشنطن تفرض عقوبات على الرئيس الكوبي

أعلنت الولايات المتحدة الجمعة فرض عقوبات غير مسبوقة على الرئيس الكوبي ميغيل دياز-كانيل، بعد أربع سنوات على تظاهرات مناهضة للحكومة لم يسبق للجزيرة الشيوعية أن شهدت مثيلا لها.

وأشار وزير الخارجية الأميركي ماركو روبيو في منشور على منصة إكس إلى أن الوزارة فرضت قيودا على منح الرئيس الكوبي تأشيرة دخول إلى البلاد "بسبب دوره في وحشية النظام الكوبي تجاه الشعب الكوبي". كذلك تستهدف العقوبات وفق روبيو "شخصيات بارزة في النظام الكوبي" على غرار وزيري الدفاع ألفارو لوبيز مييرا والداخلية لازارو ألبرتو ألفايرز كاساس.
