أعلنت وزارة الأمن الداخلي الأميركية، الثلاثاء، أن المسافرين عبر المطارات المحلية لن يطلب منهم بعد الآن خلع أحذيتهم أثناء التفتيش الأمني، منهية بذلك إجراء استمر لما يقرب من 20 عاما.

وقالت وزيرة الأمن الداخلي كريستي نويم في بيان: "إنهاء سياسة خلع الأحذية أحدث خطوة تتخذها الوزارة لتحديث وتعزيز تجربة المسافرين في مطارات بلادنا".

وأضافت: "كما هو الحال دائما، يظل الأمن على رأس أولوياتنا. وبفضل التقدم التكنولوجي المتطور الذي حققناه ونهجنا الأمني متعدد الطبقات، نحن واثقون من قدرتنا على تنفيذ هذا التغيير مع الحفاظ على أعلى معايير الأمن".
