أعلنت حركة الجهاد الإسلامي، مساء الجمعة أنها تدعم قرار حماس الدخول في مفاوضات حول آلية تنفيذ مقترح الهدنة، لكنها طلبت "ضمانات" بتحويل الهدنة المؤقتة إلى وقف دائم لإطلاق النار.

وقالت حركة الجهاد الإسلامي في بيان إنها "قدمت (لحماس) بعض الملاحظات التفصيلية حول آلية تنفيذ المقترح"، ولفتت إلى أنها تريد "ضمانات دولية إضافية لضمان عدم استئناف الاحتلال الإسرائيلي لعدوانه بعد تنفيذ بند الإفراج عن الأسرى". وأشار البيان إلى أن حماس "تشاورت" مع الجهاد الإسلامي بشأن المقترح، وشدّد على أن رد حماس اتّسم بـ"المسؤولية العالية".
