أظهرت دراسة نشرتها مجلة "ذي لانسيت" الثلاثاء أنّ قرار إدارة الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب وقف تمويل المساعدات الدولية قد يتسبّب بحلول العام 2030 بوفاة أكثر من 14 مليون شخص من الفئات الأكثر ضعفا حول العالم، ثلثهم من الأطفال.

وقال دافيد راسيلا، المؤلف المشارك في الدراسة والباحث في معهد برشلونة للصحة العالمية، إنّ قرار إدارة ترامب "يُهدّد بعرقلة، أو حتى عكس مسار، عقدين من التقدّم في مجال صحة الفئات الأكثر ضعفا. بالنسبة للعديد من البلدان المنخفضة والمتوسطة الدخل، ستكون الصدمة الناتجة مماثلة في حجمها لصدمة ناجمة عن جائحة عالمية أو عن صراع مسلح كبير".
