دعا الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأربعاء إسرائيل لأن "تلغي فورا" محاكمة رئيس وزرائها بنيامين نتانياهو بتهم فساد، واصفا القضية الملاحق بها هذا "المحارب" بـ"حملة اضطهاد".

وفي رسالة مطوّلة نشرها على منصّته "تروث سوشل" للتواصل الاجتماعي، كتب ترامب أنّ "مثل هكذا حملة اضطهاد لرجل قدّم الكثير هي بالنسبة لي أمرٌ لا يُصدّق"، مشددا على أنّ نتانياهو "يستحقّ أفضل من ذلك بكثير، وكذلك دولة إسرائيل. يجب إلغاء محاكمة بيبي نتانياهو فورا أو أن يصدر عفو عن بطل عظيم".
