قال الناطق الرسمي باسم الحكومة محمد المومني، الأربعاء، إن الحكومة بدأت بإجراءات تخصيص 1039 قطعة أرض لإسكان المعلمين بخصومات تصل إلى 50% من القيمة السوقية لمثيلاتها.

وأضاف خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقد في البلقاء بعد جلسة مجلس الوزراء أنه سيتم مع نهاية الشهر الحالي صرف كافة السلف المتأخرة للمعلمين المتقدمين لها.

ولفت المومني إلى أن جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني وجّه بزيادة نسبة مكرمة أبناء المعلمين في الجامعات من 5% إلى 10% بدءاً من العام الجامعي المقبل.

وأوضح أنه سيتم إنشاء 11 مدرسة جديدة خلال العامين الحالي والمقبل في البلقاء، بكلفة تزيد عن 20 مليون دينار، وكذلك إنشاء كلية تمريض وكلية علوم طبية مساندة في جامعة البلقاء التطبيقية بكلفة 11 مليون دينار.
