أعلنت الداخلية السورية الإثنين توقيف مشتبه بتورطهم في التفجير الانتحاري الذي استهدف كنيسة في دمشق وأوقع 25 قتيلا على الأقل، بينما أكد الوزير أنس خطاب بأن التوقيفات جاءت في إطار عمليات طالت خلايا لتنظيم الدولة الاسلامية.

وأفادت الوزارة عن "إلقاء القبض على عدد من المجرمين المتورطين في الهجوم" على كنيسة مار الياس في حي الدويلعة، وذلك نتيجة عمليات "دقيقة" في ريف دمشق استهدفت، وفق خطاب، "مواقع لخلايا إرهابية مرتبطة بتنظيم داعش".
