وجّه النجم العراقي أيمن حسين رسالة شكر مؤثرة إلى الأردن وشعبها، بعد مغادرته البلاد، حيث كتب:

"شكرًا للأردن وأهل الأردن على كرم الضيافة وحفاوة الاستقبال، أسبوع في الأردن وكأنني بين أهلي وناسي، حقًا عشت أيامًا جميلة بين إخوتي وأصدقائي. أسأل الله أن يحفظكم جميعًا".

وكان أيمن حسين قد بقي في الأردن لبضعة أيام بعد المباراة الأخيرة في التصفيات، والتي فاز فيها المنتخب العراقي على نظيره الأردني بهدف دون مقابل. وغادر حسين الجمعة إلى العراق، بعد أيام وصفها بـ"الجميلة"، مؤكدًا على عمق العلاقات الأخوية بين الشعبين العراقي والأردني.
