أكد غالبية أعضاء مجلس الأمن الدولي خلال جلسة طارئة حول التصعيد بين إسرائيل وإيران أهمية وقف الأعمال العدائية والعودة إلى المسار الدبلوماسي. وشدد الأعضاء على ضرورة أن تتوقف جميع الأطراف عن إطلاق النار في أقرب وقت ممكن لمنع تصاعد الوضع، مع التأكيد على أهمية ضبط النفس والتهدئة، وحماية أرواح المدنيين، والعودة إلى الحوار الدبلوماسي لحل النزاع.

من جانبه، حذر الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، أنطونيو غوتيريش، من أن العالم يمر بلحظة حاسمة قد تحدد مستقبل البشرية، محذرًا من تصاعد المواجهة بين إسرائيل وإيران بسرعة غير مسبوقة.
