طرح وزير الخزانة الأميركي سكوت بيسنت الأربعاء، إمكان تمديد تعليق التعرفات الجمركية "المتبادلة" إذا أجريت مفاوضات "بحسن نية" مع اقتراب الموعد النهائي الذي ستواجه فيه عشرات البلدان رسوما جمركية أعلى.

وقال بيسنت أمام الكونغرس: "الأمر متروك للرئيس (دونالد) ترامب، لكنني أعتقد أنه إذا كان هناك جهة تفاوض بحسن نية، فسيكون التمديد ممكنا".

وكان ترامب قد أعلن في نيسان/أبريل فرض رسوم جمركية "متبادلة" على معظم شركاء بلاده التجاريين، لكنه علقها على العديد من الدول حتى التاسع من تموز/يوليو ريثما تجري مفاوضات.
