أعلن مسؤول أميركي كبير لوكالة فرانس برس أنّ إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترامب أمرت بنشر 500 عنصر من سلاح مشاة البحرية (المارينز) في لوس أنجليس للتصدّي للاحتجاجات الجارية في هذه المدينة الكبرى بولاية كاليفورنيا.

وقال المسؤول طالبا عدم نشر اسمه إنّه "في ضوء تزايد التهديدات ضدّ مسؤولين فدراليين ومبان فدرالية، فإنّ 500 عنصر من مشاة البحرية العاملين في كامب بندلتون"، القاعدة العسكرية الواقعة على بُعد ساعتين جنوب المدينة، "سيتمّ نشرهم في لوس أنجليس للمساعدة في حماية المسؤولين الفدراليين والمباني الفدرالية".
