بلغ الإيطالي يانيك سينر، المصنف أول عالميا، النهائي الكبير الثالث له تواليا وأجل مسعى الصربي المخضرم نوفاك ديوكوفيتش السادس للانفراد بالرقم القياسي المطلق، وذلك بالفوز عليه 6-4 و7-5 و7-6 (7-3) الجمعة في نصف نهائي بطولة فرنسا المفتوحة، ثانية البطولات الأربع الكبرى في كرة المضرب، المقامة على ملاعب رولان غاروس.

وبعدما انتهى أفضل مشوار له في البطولة الفرنسية عند نصف النهائي الموسم الماضي على يد الإسباني كارلوس ألكاراس الذي توّج لاحقا باللقب، يجدد سينر الموعد مع المصنف ثانيا الأحد في النهائي الرابع له في الـ"غراند سلام"، على أمل الفوز باللقب الكبير الرابع في مسيرة ابن الـ23 عاما.
