أنهى المنتخب الوطني لكرة القدم الشوط الأول متقدمًا على نظيره العماني، بنتيجة 1-0، في المباراة التي تجمع المنتخبين الشقيقين حاليًا على ستاد قابوس في مسقط في الدور الحاسم من تصفيات كأس العالم.

وسجل اللاعب علي علوان هدف التقدم للمنتخب من ركلة جزاء في الدقيقة الخامسة من الوقت بدل الضائع من الشوط الأول.

وفي حال فوز المنتخب سيصبح قريبًا جدًا من التأهل لمونديال 2026.
