أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأربعاء أنّه فرض حظرا على منح تأشيرات دخول إلى الطلاب الأجانب الجدد الراغبين بالالتحاق بجامعة هارفرد، في حلقة جديدة من مسلسل التصعيد الدائر بينه وبين عدد من المؤسّسات التعليمية العريقة التي يتّهمها بالترويج لأفكار يسارية تقدمية متطرفة.

وقال ترامب في بيان "لقد خلصتُ إلى ضرورة تقييد دخول الأجانب الراغبين في القدوم إلى الولايات المتحدة للمشاركة، حصريا أو بشكل أساسي، في برنامج دراسي بجامعة هارفرد أو في برنامج تبادل طلابي تستضيفه الجامعة".
