فازت الدكتورة آية الأسمر مرشحة قائمة عهد، بمنصب نقيب أطباء الأسنان بعد حصولها على ( 1678) صوتاً في انتخابات النقابة التي جرت اليوم، متفوقة على أقرب منافسيها الدكتور محسن الروسان ( قائمة توافق ) الذي حصل على ( 985) صوتاً.

وبذلك تسجل الأسمر سابقة تاريخية كأول سيدة تتولى هذا المنصب منذ تأسيس النقابة، في خطوة اعتبرها كثيرون إنجازاً على طريق تعزيز دور المرأة في مواقع صنع القرار في القطاع الصحي والنقابي.
