أكدت منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة، يونيسف، مقتل أكثر من 13 ألف طفل في غزة، بسبب الهجوم الإسرائيلي.

وأضافت المنظمة أن العديد من أطفال يعانون من الجوع ولا يملكون "حتى الطاقة للبكاء".

وقالت المديرة التنفيذية للمنظمة كاثرين راسل لشبكة سي.بي.إس: "أُصيب آلاف آخرون، أو لا نستطيع حتى تحديد مكانهم. ربما يكونون محاصرين تحت الأنقاض.. لم نشهد هذا المعدل من الوفيات بين الأطفال في أي صراع آخر في العالم تقريباً".

وقالت وكالة غوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين أونروا إن 1 من كل 3 أطفال دون العامين في شمال غزة يعاني الآن من الجوع، وأن مجاعة تلوح في الأفق.
